Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes Invest in F1 Alpine Racing Team: ‘Dream Come True’

Travis Kelce and five other top athletes have become the latest high-profile names to invest in Formula One team Alpine.

Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs player currently in a relationship with pop sensation Taylor Swift, has joined teammate Patrick Mahomes and a host of sports stars in a $211million strategic investment into Alpine Racing Ltd through private investment firm Otro Capital.

Former world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua, four-time golf major championship winner Rory McIlroyLiverpool soccer star Trent Alexander-Arnold and ex-Premier League player Juan Mata are also on board.

Roger Ehrenberg – an investor in the Miami Marlins and Real Salt Lake – is another prominent addition.

Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney teamed up with fellow acting superstar Michael B. Jordan to take a 24 percent stake in Alpine over the summer, a deal which took the F1 team’s value to over $850m.

However, Mail Sport reported back in July that Reynolds and McElhenney’s stake actually cost them nothing, with the pair expected to generate revenues through their storytelling prowess, and perhaps a documentary series.

The F1 team are hoping their profile will rise as rapidly as that of Reynolds and McElhenney’s football club Wrexham. The pair plus Jordan co-own an investment company, Maximum Effort Investments, which will reportedly own around one tenth of the 24 per cent stake, or between two and three per cent of Alpine.

The addition of Kelce to the investment group will also bring new eyes to Alpine amid his budding new romance with Taylor Swift.

Swift sparked a frenzy in the States by rocking up to Arrowhead for Kelce and the Chiefs’ game against the Chicago Bears last month, before attending two of their next three games.

The two were also seen out together in New York City over the weekend after making cameo appearances on Saturday Night Live.

After being announced as an Alpine investor on Tuesday, Kelce said: I am thrilled to lead an investor group and join forces with Patrick and the team at Otro Capital on this exciting venture with Alpine F1.

‘Our shared passion for excellence and innovation forms the cornerstone of this partnership. It’s about being able to contribute to a sport that demands precision, teamwork, and relentless pursuit of success.

‘I am looking forward to this new chapter and can’t wait to see what we achieve together.’

Mahomes also said: ‘I’ve always had a passion for all sports. The opportunity to lead an investor group with Travis in Alpine F1 alongside Otro Capital was one I couldn’t pass up.

‘It’s an exciting time for the sport and this is an opportunity to bring our shared values to the world stage. I’m looking forward to being a part of its growth.’
