Dramatic moment kayaker has a close encounter with TWO breaching humpback whales as they nearly capsize his tiny vessel

A kayaker was left stunned after two whales breached next to his kayak and nearly knocked him over.

Eddy Willis was paddling in Half Moon Bay, California, when the humpback whales soared above the sea level and tapped his tiny vessel.

But rather than being terrified of the marine mammals, Mr Willis was ecstatic by the act, shouting: ‘Woah!’ as soon as they appeared.

After they disappeared back into the water, Mr Willis cheered with excitement.

‘My GOD!,’ he said, ‘That’s what I’m talking about!’

Mr Willis, who works for the Nevada Department of Wildlife, filmed the amazing encounter on a camera attached to a selfie stick.

He then uploaded it on to video sharing website Vimeo, where it has been viewed more than 57,000 times.

The wildlife worker was on a coastal fishing tour around the west coast of the US when he encountered the whales.

Writing on Facebook, Mr Willis said: ‘It’s happened more than once. I have video from three different times. They just were everywhere.’
