The star is gearing up for the release of new music, with her self-titled 2017 album a critical and commercial success and was reissued in 2018 with additional songs to capitalize on its success.
Dua walked home with the coveted Best New Artist award at the 2019 Grammy Awards, as well as the Grammy for Best Dance Recording for her song Electricity, a collaboration between her and the duo Silk City, comprised of producers Mark Ronson and Diplo.
In addition to her performance, the singer sat down for a conversation with acclaimed New Yorker staff writer Amanda Petrusich, the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship for nonfiction and a Grammy nominee herself.

Recently, her relationship with model Anwar Hadid, 20, has been heating up.
The two struck up a relationship back in June, shortly after Anwar shared some of his musical side project with Dua, who’s friends with his sister Gigi.
In September, The Sun reported that Dua and Anwar had moved in together in New York City in order to be closer to each other when they weren’t traveling.
‘Dua and Anwar are spending all of their time together so it just made sense for them to rent this place,’ said a source close to the couple.
‘She’s always at his [apartment] when she’s in LA and he stays with her in London so this felt like the natural step.
‘Once she comes back with new music she will spend more time in New York so it’s good for her to have a base there and it makes sense to him because a lot of his family live there,’ they added
Prior to her current relationship, Dua was in a relationship with model and chef Isaac Carew.
The couple dated on and off for five years, though her increasingly hectic work scheduled reportedly soured their relationship.
The couple split a year after Isaac was seen grinding against a mystery woman in a nightclub while Dua’s song One Kiss played in the background.
‘I wouldn’t want you to think that Dua is in a relationship with someone who doesn’t love and respect her. She wouldn’t stand for it,’ he said at the time.
