Models hit the catwalk in duct tape bikinis that barely leave them covered

Fashion label Black Tape Project has made a return to the runway at Miami Swim Week with its racy duct tape bikini designs, and they definitely don’t leave much to the imagination.

We all know skimpy swimwear is in fashion, with models and influencers seeming to wear less and less any summer.

However, one fashion label has taken it to the extreme by showing off their duct tape bikinis on the runway.

The bikinis – made famous by fashion label Black Tape Project – made a return to the runway at Miami Swim Week.

And the designs, made only from tape, are racier than ever.

One saw a blonde model expose her curves in a tape bikini which had a crop top design.

This featured multi-coloured and black tape, which was covered in studs.

The bikini ‘top’ also allowed her to expose her underboob, with a cut-out design.

Meanwhile, the bottom half featured a small section of tape over her privates as well as studded tape over her hips and thighs.

Another of the bikinis had a frontless swimwear design to it, as green, metallic leaves covered the model’s intimate parts.

This was teamed with black bands around her wrists.

Things then got even racier with another design, which featured just one strap of black tape for the top half – which was designed in a halterneck style.

Not much was left to the imagination in the designs

The ladies would definitely turn heads on the beach!

This piece of tape also made a thong bottom, which the model’s privates were just about covered in a lead-shape design.

The model’s teamed the flesh-flashing designs with pink eye makeup and luminous dots on their face.

They all rocked plaited hairstyles, while some of the models had their tattoos on show.

Black Tape Project was founded by the “King of Tape” Joel Alvarez, and has turned heads with unique designs since its launch.

The bikinis aren’t for the faint-hearted.

Joel began the eye-catching trend more than a decade ago while working as a photographer.

Writing on his website, he explained: “One day in 2008 I was a rookie photographer who was working with a model that suggested I use electrical tape her for the last look.

“I honestly had no idea why she would want this but to make her happy I attempted to use this tape as wardrobe.

“Essentially I just wrapped her in black electrical tape! Mind you she looked like two Christmas hams wrapped in rubber bands when I was done! (I’d never show you these images!)

“However, it sparked an idea in my head to develop this idea.”

Meanwhile, another swimwear trend which has recently made a comeback is psychedelic swimwear patterns.

Retro fashion is becoming hugely popular again in 2021 as 70s style styles are being sported by the likes of Kylie Jenner.

And in other swimwear news, Tarzan bikinis have proven popular in recent months.
