Hart makes an uncredited cameo appearance along with Ryan Reynolds as CIA agent Victor Locke and Air Marshal Dinkley. The scene serves as nothing more than a comic relief, something that both Hart and Reynolds excel at.

Jumanji: The Next Level (2019)

Set two years after the first movie, Jumanji: The Next Level sees Johnson, Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan reprise their roles as an avatar-ed group of teenagers accidently thrown into a life-or-death game. As an overall third installment of the Jumanji franchise, the sequel’s success made it the tenth-highest-grossing film of 2019. The plot revolves around Spencer (Johnson), who gets sucked back into the game, and the rest of his squad is forced to go back in to save him. Arguably, it’s one of the few reboots that actually pays respect to the original while seamlessly modernizing its content. The humor is great, the characters are even better, and the actors’ chemistry, especially that of Johnson and Hart, vibrates through our screens. A sequel is said to be in early development, and we can’t wait for the actors to team up yet again.

Central Intelligence (2016)

If there was a duo best suited for a buddy action comedy, it would definitely be Johnson and Hart. Central Intelligence proves that, no matter how tacky your script may be, if you cast actors whose chemistry goes over the roof, and they know how to deliver comedic lines, anything can be saved. The plot of the movie reunites two old high-school classmates: Calvin (Hart), who used to be a popular athlete, now turned accountant, and Robbie (Johnson), who used to be bullied, but is now part of the CIA. They join forces to save the world from a terrorist who intends to sell satellite codes. Once you watch this movie, you’ll never want to see another buddy comedy that doesn’t star Hart and Johnson together. It’s amazing, it makes you laugh, and you’ll definitely want to see more, although the development of the sequel was initially halted because of the filming for Jumanji.

DC League of Super-Pets (2022)

The most recent collaboration between Johnson and Hart has brought back the appreciation of the duo’s chemistry. DC League of Super-Pets sees Hart and Johnson in the leading voice roles as Ace the Bat-Hound and Superman’s dog Krypto. The two super-pets work with other animals to save the captured superheroes from Lex Luthor and Lulu. Although they’re not physically on-screen together, you can feel the chemistry between Johnson and Hart even through their voice acting. It’s a chaotic masterpiece with a captivating found family premise, where Ace and Krypto’s friendship resembles their owners. It has great animation, hilarious scenes, real character growth, and moments that are extremely emotional despite the underlying comedy. No wonder the movie took the top spot at the box office, overt-taking even Jordan Peele’s Nope.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017)

Being the fifth-highest-grossing film of 2017 tells a lot about how well-received the second installment of the Jumanji series was. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is a fantasy adventure comedy, following a group of teenagers that turn into adult avatars after they get sucked into an old game. The only way out of the game is to win it. While Jonson takes the shape of Dr. Xander “Smolder” Bravestone, Hart turns into zoologist Franklin “Mouse” Finbar. Similarly to the sequel, the reboot didn’t try to be edgy, but instead genuinely found a heartfelt story by reversing the premise of the original film. In addition to Jack Black embodying a teenage girl’s spirit perfectly, Johnson, Hart, and Gillan’s comedic expertise carry the movie into an unforgettable set of performances.
